Acupuncture
Acupuncture in a complete system of health care that has been in use for 2,000 years in China. It is the primary approach to medical care for more than 1/3 of the world's population today and is extremely safe and effective.
Acupuncturists believe that the underlying principle of treatment is that illness and pain occur when the body’s 'qi' or vital energy, cannot flow freely. There can be many reasons for this; emotional and physical stress, poor nutrition, infection or injury are among the most common. By inserting ultra-fine sterile needles into specific acupuncture points, - along the body's energy meridians, an acupuncturist seeks to re-establish the free flow of qi to restore balance and trigger the body’s natural healing response.
Modern acupuncture needles are extremely fine so that treatment is usually almost painless; you feel a tiny pinprick as the needle goes through the skin followed by some sensation such as a dull, often warm, but not unpleasant ache. The needles we use are sterilised and disposable (they are disposed of after a single use), so there is no possibility of spreading infection.

* Zheng Gu is a traditional Chinese liniment known to relieve qi and blood stagnation.
Moxibustion involves the focused application of heat on the body by burning natural compressed mugwort leaf inorder to energise and warm specific acupuncture points.
We often recommend Moxibustion for a number of symptoms such as;
- Breech presentation during pregnancy
- Menstrual issues such as period pain and ovulatory disorders
- Painful conditions such as fibromyalgia, neuralgia
- Digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome
Moxibustion Treatment: 30 mins - £35
Cupping therapy is one of TCM’s main treatment techniques. During a cupping treatment, negative pressure from within the cup allows the skin's pores to open up and the warming and dispersing effects result in a number of benefical biological and mechanical changes to the body.
It is extremely useful for certain conditions, such as muscular stiffness and tension, which may have resulted from stress or overtraining in exercise. It is also used for unblocking respiratory and sinus disorders such as asthma, chest infections, colds and sinusitis.
Cupping Treatment: 30 mins - £30
Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese skin scraping technique using a smooth stone whilst applying pressure to the area under treatment.
As we use the Gua sha tool, it releases muscle tension and breaks up fascia adhesions and tiny capillaries. As a result, it increases blood flow, which allows more nutrients into your skin and encourages waste to leave the skin.
It has been found effective in helping to drain the lymphatic system and in reducing cellulite and stretch marks.
Sessions can focus on the back, legs, arms or body sculpting.
Gua Sha Treatment: 30 mins - £40
Ear candling is a time honoured technique used to remove ear wax. This treatment draws wax and other impurities from the ear channel due to the partial vacuum created in the base of a tapered candle which is inserted into the ear opening. This is far more comfortable than conventional ear cleaning where water is forced into the ear, and is a gently effective remedy for hearing impairment due to ear wax build up.
